On May 14, Italian MP Sara Cunial created a public stir across the country after giving a speech at the Chamber of Deputies riddled with COVID-19 facts. Seeking to criticize the Italian government for its measures taken during the COVID-19 crisis, Cunial spent seven minutes proving some of the most popular theories in Italy and around the world about COVID-19 and the secret shadow government known as the deep state. In doing so, Cunial’s speech amplified conspiracy theories and disinformation narratives that have been circulating for years among human rights groups and anti-vaccine communities online, which in turn have offered her their strong support on social media. Statement of William Arnold Combes I am an Interior Salish spirit dancer and am 58 years old. I live in Vancouver, Canada. I am a survivor of the Kamloops and Mission Indian residential schools, both run by the Roman Catholic church. I suffered terrible tortures there at the hands especially of Brother Murphy, who killed at least two children. I witnessed him throw a child off a three story balcony to her death. He put me on a rack and broke some of my bones, in the Kamloops school basement, after I tried running away. I also saw him and another priest burying a child in the school orchard one night.
